At Western Edge Youth Arts we create cutting edge, contemporary youth performances. Our performers are under 26, culturally diverse, living in the west of Melbourne or beyond, and move between cultures. They’re rich in ways that make for complex, funny, challenging and beautiful art. Our shows examine real issues affecting our young people and our community, like racism, domestic violence and intergenerational problems. We encourage the sort of rigorous thinking that young people can carry into daily life. Many go on to lead their communities with our mentorship.

Here's the issue… we could be compared to the Flintstones when it comes to our organisation's marketing resources. Western Edge Youth Arts needs your help to move into the 21st century.
This campaign is about raising much needed funds that will allow us to upgrade our communications to incorporate new technologies and maximise our organisation's marketing reach. Simply put, the bigger our reach is, the more capacity we will have to create a sustainable future for Western Edge Youth Arts' community and education programs.
With your help, we can give more young members of our community the opportunity to take part in creating cutting edge performances that allow them to express themselves and build cross-cultural understanding throughout our community.

About Western Edge Youth Arts
Over the past 20 years Western Edge Youth Arts have developed a place where young members of diverse communities can create socially engaged art and discover some new perspectives along the way. Young people grow in confidence and learn that they can be advocates for change.
Many young participants have the opportunity to gain paid work with professional artists – skilled in community arts, applied theatre and arts education – to assist with running workshops and creative performances. Together with young people we find the burning issues and transform them into incandescent contemporary performance.
Our extensive research tells us that participants and audiences find our work is highly engaging and very effective in raising serious and pressing social issues in a way that changes young people's thinking. Don't just take our word for it here's our research video.
