We are ready to create a new variety of Sofi Spritz and we want you to help with the product development process.  Every supporter will have the chance to vote during the online pledging process. In return, you will receive a bunch of rewards to enjoy and will be the first to try our new creation!

The original Sofi Spritz is an all-Australian and all-natural take on the classic Veneto Spritz from Italy. Sofi is made by adding blood-orange and bitters to a South Australian Riesling wine with a dash of sparkling water. Think of it as a classic European cocktail, with a modern Australian twist.


We started Sofi as enthusiastic outsiders to the industry, but with a strong determination to find the best local ingredients and winemaking talent around. We teamed up with Simon Gilbert, who brings decades of experience as a 5^th generation master winemaker. 

Following a fantastic response at local farmers markets, we turned to Pozible (our first campaign) to help us scale up. With the help of 133 supporters, we raised over $11,000 and produced our new packaging on a commercial scale, winning national distribution (with Dan Murphy’s and a fantastic network of independents) as a result.

Now we are turning to Pozible again. And this time we want you to help us create the next SOFI…

In keeping with our tradition of taking a classic European cocktail and giving it an all natural Aussie twist, we have 2 options in mind, but we just can’t decide which we like best. And we certainly can’t afford to do both.



This is where you come in.  During the pledging process, after you have selected the reward of your choice, you will have the chance to vote for either of our 2 options. 

VOTING OPTION 1 = Hugo

Meet Hugo. The Hugo Spritz is the most popular Aperitivo— summer or winter — around the Italian Alps. Traditionally, a Hugo is made by mixing sparkling wine, soda water, fresh mint leaves and lemon syrup. The recipe has since been tweaked, dropping the lemon and adding syrup made from elderflower.



Potential Ingredients:
- White wine
- Lemon
- Elderflower
- Mint
- Sparkling water

VOTING OPTION 2 = Clerico

Sangria is certainly one of the most famous Mediterranean cocktails but not everyone knows that white wine can be used instead of red. The result is called sangria blanca or, down in Argentina and Paraguay, a Clerico. Our twist is to add fresh cranberry juice or grapefruit to a nice dry white wine - always trying to create that crucial balance between bitter & sweet.

- Grapefruit
- Other berries/citrus
- Sparkling water

HOW TO VOTE:

We want you to decide whether Hugo or Clerico makes it to market. Your votes will make the difference. We want to involve our supporters in our product development. After all, this drink is for you and your friends to enjoy.



Then we will dive into the product development process. We will aim to have our new variety available in mid-2015. And you will be the first to try it before it hits the market - with exclusive access and a discount code for priority purchase via our online store.

All funds raised will go towards getting our next Sofi on the market. This includes the product development process (design, tastings, samples) but the largest expense will be initial production – the juice, winemaking, bottles, labels and all the other packaging as well as the production & distribution process itself.

To top it all off, we are planning to throw a bigger and better party than last time! We are getting excited about potential venues & artists so stay tuned and let us know any ideas...

We have done our first prototypes of both so are confident the taste of the final product will be amazing but there are always production risks. We believe that we have come to terms with most of these risks - our first bottler went broke taking down our customised kit in the process!

We now have relationships with top quality suppliers and contractors, having produced multiple batches of the original Sofi Spritz, and believe we will be able to produce a quality product in time and on budget.  One of the major challenges of working with these first class partners is that they have sizeable minimum orders but we believe that the funding target that we have set is sufficient for us to meet these minimum orders.
