Pyramod - Vertical Vegetable Garden
Having moved around a lot in the past, I soon realised that keeping a vegetable garden was not possible.
I looked around at the Vertical system on the market and realised that most were attached to walls or bulky constructions that would really hold small vegetables and flowers.
Three years ago I went to a Wilson Luna Seminar ( a successful Australian Business Man). He had visions and still has of making the World a better place and his ideas totally blew me away.I walked out knowing that I had an idea that could be in that ball park.
In my past, I have created businesses that I loved.
Landscaping.
Plastic Moulding
and a few others.
My revelation, after the seminar was that I could make a difference by creating a vertical garden that would be easy for anyone to use.
Groblock was born from that... A container shaped like a massive leggo block that could be stacked and hold plants was conceived. There I was using my years of knowledge in the plastic moulding industry as well as my love of gardening and 2 years of research to realised that, although my knowledge in plastic was sufficient, I could not raise enough to be able to support the $150,000 just in die costs to push it further at that time.
This did not stop my creative energy Groblock will be resurrected; however, Pyramod came about when I was looking for a simpler and cheaper way to create an almost similar result.
.Pyramod covers all the basic requirements...
1. simple to use. (A child through to the elderly can lift, open and use Pyramod)
2.organic growing,
3. do not require a large block of land. ( balconies or limited spaces will cater for a Pyramod)
4. Easy gardening. ( limited bending)
5 Water saving.
6. able to create fences or can be bracketed up on a wall. ( see diagram mockup below %2310 and added bags %2311 )
7. Interchangeable bags
8. Pyramod can be turned into a greenhouse (with simple add on accessory)

Pyramod is a lightweight structure that unfolds with a single action and is ready to use.
I have made a couple prototypes and believe that two sizes should be considered. these presently live in my garden :)

The one above is H 145 cm X W 120 cm and it is in different stages of growth, plants ranging to 2 weeks to 3 months old which consists of strawberries, tomatoes, sorrel, parsley, Brussels sprouts, peas, capsicum, lettuce and spinach.
Tomatoes will be tied to frame work as they grow and peas will tie themselves automatically.
The smaller smaller Pyramod is H 112 cm x W 90 cm,
Both support square foot gardening and can be used indoor or on a balcony, if restricted space applies.

STRAWBERRIES in one of the Pyramod bags

Sorrel grown in container 30cm x 35cm.... this container comfortably sits in the pyramod bag.
Bags can be interchanged or pots and containers can be placed in them.
The bag is designed as such that water is passed onto the next plants below them, to allow water saving and efficiency.
There are two sizes available pyramod modules ( different size) and designed and produced their growing bags.
In the past, this project has seen many ups and downs and many reconfiguration... it has been a work of love.
Now , after all the market research and the comparing so many vertical garden concepts, I know that I can produce, not only the cheapest available on the market, but the easiest, freestanding Vertical Garden that requires no assembly.
With your support, I can bring Pyramod to life and have the pleasure of knowing that homes without gardens or limited growing space can enjoy organic vegetables.
In saying vegetables, I mean vegetables, not tiny little plants.
Later, Pyramod will bring out a few inexpensive accessories, allowing for netting, greenhouse cover, and plant climbing panels.
This could hopefully be launched at the same time, if funding is reached.

Extra Pyramod Bags ca be added between Module to increase vegetable produce ( and adds extra strength to the wall/fence).... (Mock-up image)
Pyramod has an accessory which will be used to create a greenhouse. Capping it and placing the designed plastic over, allows Pyramod to become a greenhouse.
Netting can also be used to protect your plants.

LinkedinOne other exciting concept, Pyramod can also be used as a portable upright cupboard... Suitable for urgent cupboard space, camping cupboard or even in a child's room as a mean of storing toys.
A Big Thank You
Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today :)
Queensland has been my home for only three years, prior to that I lived in NSW.
A very Special Thank you goes to:
Wilson Luna A mentor and a tremendous individual. He has had an impact on my life that I wish I could have happened many years ago, when involved with other businesses. Excellent business man. Recommend anyone to attend one of his seminar. ( business website link)
David Collins A great friend and Mentor with an awesome business... He is the king of Exotic Mushrooms. He has always made the time to listen and advise. ( business website link)
Kerry Noon This is just a wonderful friend that will always be there for me. (Facebook link)
And not least, My Children and Partner, for always believing in me.
I AM SURE THIS LIST WILL GROW TREMENDOUSLY OVER THE NEXT 12 MONTHS.
But, in the meantime, thank you to all who will help make this a successful venture.

How The Funds Will Be Used
The next stages which need to happen together are:
1. Patent.... for the Australian Market... followed by patents in other international markets.
2. Production of more Pyramods... requiring capital to buy more timber and bag material.
3. Help to complete website. Product purchase will be available at Pyramod.com as soon as site is finalised.
I am launching Pyramod at the Queensland Garden Expo in July, 2015 (stall %23170)

$30,000 is just to get up and running, this would be a tremendous achievement an hope you will help me launch this great product.
If the funding exceeds $30000, the next stage will be to job out the product and have them made more economically.
I am presently fabricating and creating everything on my own; Ideally, the sooner I can find a suitable manufacturer for both the Pyramod frame and the Pyramod growing bags, the more time I can dedicate to Marketing.
The Challenges
The project will be a challenge without your help and hope that your generosity will make this unique Vertical garden system a success.
I am also creating a shop on the website, all of these things cost money and the more I can delegate out, the more time I will have to market Pyramod.
My next challenge is to introduce them to schools and communities as a public educational product.
I am not limiting my ideas there...
