Our story



Andyson Keket and Lokes Brooksbank are two young guys who work in Child Protection in Australia with dreams to make significant differences in their home country of Papua New Guinea. Both Andyson and Lokes are driven by the desire to help people and children achieve and better themselves . Their work in child protection has been challenging as well as incredibly rewarding –

Contemplating and then witnessing how at risk children in PNG even survive spurred both of them to start something to make a real difference. As a result, the concept Spearhead was born. The organisation and its small team are determined to make a significant difference for at risk and vulnerable children in PNG. These are the children that don’t have safe homes to go back to, a bed to sleep in, a regular meal or clean water. These children are neglected, abused and exploited. In PNG, it sometimes seems to be an issue that is swept under the carpet and ignored. Tragically, child abuse is a very real occurrence in Papua New Guinea in both urban and rural settings. More needs to be realised and more change needs to be seen.

Spearhead’s mission is to provide support to the most vulnerable and at risk children and youth in PNG. Children and youth who are victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation and maltreatment. Children who have been abandoned. Children and youth involved in crime and incarcerated. Through various programs, the organisation’s objective is to provide opportunities and hope for these children and young people. Through engagement with youth in the settlements, on the streets and those in the justice system, Spearhead's commitment is to deliver a positive message through youth environments.

Spearhead is a PNG based organisation that endeavours to improve the lives of at risk and vulnerable children. Child protection and violence against children are growing issues in Papua New Guinea and Spearhead is an organisation that wants to act to help make a difference on the ground where it is needed the most.

This crowd fund is an important part of a larger vision that Spearhead has planned in PNG. Any small or large donation counts and will make a difference. So be a part of a movement that will make an incredible difference for the future of Papua New Guinea.

Save our clan, save our children.

The funds raised in this crowd fund will go directly to some of our initial on the ground initiatives. Initiatives such as providing clean water and basic health supplies to some of the most impoverished settlements and communities in Port Moresby, PNG. In order to help and identify the children that need the most help we must first provide the basic necessities for these children. Access to clean water and basic health through small aid posts are some of Spearheads first objectives. Spearhead will endeavour to provide clean water through situating  tanks or access to credible water sources.  Small aid posts need to be established provide basic health to children who are suffering from the flu, tuberculosis and malaria.  

Some of the money will also go to the start up of the organisation. Every organisation starts somewhere and Spearhead has decided to start here with you! Become a part of starting Spearhead and help us help the many children and young people who need our help. 

As a small organisation starting up in a difficult industry in PNG, Spearhead has many challenges. We are in our infancy and people are yet to realise our value because we are not yet one of the known organisations in the social welfare sector. This means we face challenges getting off the ground because we need funding. We face competing with other larger known organisations who have so much more behind them. And we face the issue of trying to make more people in Papua New Guinea aware that these issue are real and an important part to the future of the country.The children, education and support to those who need it the most is what drives real development. 

Despite these challenges at Spearhead we are a young and motivated team. We are driven by these challenges and obstacles. We may be against the odds and it may be a challenge but we are a passionate and tenacious and will work with our blood, sweat and tears to reach out and make a difference to as many young lives as we can.
