Min Pin is a progressive jewellery and home wares design label that specializes in compassionate design, quality workmanship, ethical production, affordability and most importantly, fun! The brainchild of Min Pin, designer and illustrator Penny Min Ferguson, created the project after an inspiring internship that she undertook at innovative design school Old School the New School for Design and Typography in Coburg. Motivated by such dedication to compassionate design and the homemade, Penny began to make wares that were not only completely handmade, but also original, well crafted and made with love. Thus began the foundations of Min Pin.
Today almost all designs are made by Penny at her Melbourne studio using as many local materials as she can source. All packaging and labels used are also handmade, printed, cropped and punched, giving each design a unique, exclusive quality. Min Pin is sold both online, at local markets and is currently stocked at boutique design stores both in Australia (Craft Vic, Hudson Clothes, Hut 13) and around the world (Magma Design).
To continue to support this gradual snowballing, Penny also recently began the NEIS program at RMIT, studying the basics of small business. With this assistance Penny aims to take Min Pin into the wider craft and design communities as a viable business and continue to design new, more experimental and progressive pieces.
This is where you come in! To finance this goal, Min Pin requires roughly $2,500 to cover all material and production costs.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Your money love will go directly towards:
$100 - Packaging materials (including card, paper, stickers and printing ink).
$400 - Digital SLR camera for product photography and fashion shoots (currently using my phone!).
$1000 - Computer and software (my old Macbook passed away unexpectedly recently (ಠ益ಠ).
$1000 - Manufacturing and stock - I hope to experiment with 3D printing and screen printing onto fabric and invest in using higher quality jewellery materials (chain etc).

The Challenges
The viability of Min Pin and ensuring that the business stays afloat is the biggest challenge that Penny faces. This risk can minimized by careful operational planning, good management and continual active research.
