You're on your surfboard and you're having fun riding the waves and THEN all the sudden you got HIT by a big one and you end up getting hurt. An ambulance person comes along and ask you:
"Are you okay?"
"Who are you? "
"We need to take you into emergency, who should we call?"
It has happened to me and luckily I did not have to undergo any serious treatment. BUT I do know some of my closest friends and families with serious allergies or medical conditions. It's important for medics and doctors to understand the patient's personal medical history so they can to properly treat them.
Australian lifeguards has rescued 12,600 people and many of 'rescuees' do not have their details on them. After speaking with lifeguards and surfers, to extreme sport lovers to hikers, it turns out they wanted an innovative product that safely carries their emergency details.
THE BIG IDEA IS
Just to be on the safe side, we are creating 'Safe Mate.' A wearable and light wristband that could contains your personal information, including medical history and documents. The wristband links and filled with your personal identifications and data.
Having personal information ready for rescuers will save time and improve the rescue process.
It's about being ready and being precautions.
THIS IS HOW EASY 'SAFE MATE' IS:
1) Purchase a 'Safe Mate' wristband at your local surf shop
2) Go online and fill out your details
3) And...PRESTO! You can now wear 'Safe Mate.'

This is a serious and respectful project.
As the owner, All data will remain as YOUR property and we care a lot about data privacy.
Safe mate and its application are kept with with HIGHLY SECURE AND FULLYcertified servers, stored and based in Australia.
We care about this project and we like to involve the community. We are offering you the opportunity to make a donation towards lifesavings activities for each wristband sold.

- Production environment for the application (secure servers, SSL certificate for encryption, system and application monitoring) $1000
- Waterproof wristbands with NFC chips (4 sizes) ($1200)
- 2 Reliable NFC Readers with internet connection (Smartphones) ($850)
- Legal costs (Data protection and privacy) ($750)
- Low fees for the designer and 2 developpers ($1200)
We want to raise $5000 to run the project on one famous beach in Sydney. The more we get the more beaches we will be able to cover.

that have a good 3G/4G coverage.
- All information is stored on a server. To prevent a failure from a server we will set up 2 servers with 2 different hosting providers.
