We live near the Hamlet of Gnomesville in Western Australia (home to nearly 8000 gnomes) and although we love to visit the gnomes we are saddened to see them fading in our harsh Aussie sun as time goes on. We wanted to do something about it.



I work as a paint technician for a hardware chain and have extensive training in paint and other products associated with paint. Every tourist season we have customers asking for exterior paint in many colours but they don't want to spend much. These customers are repainting their gnomes or customizing new ones.

I give advice all year round on how to seal and paint pots, ornaments and gnomes but can't provide these sweet people with an inexpensive alternative to buying 1 litre quantities in several different colours. Exterior paint generally retails at $29.90 per litre at best.

I like to provide solutions to problems and have felt frustrated with this issue until now. We have given a lot of thought to this, researched and tested it. We have the solution. Not only have we developed top of the line exterior grade paint pot sets over the past 9 months, but we have also developed Little Aussie Gnome Painting Kit!

People will be able to buy a set of 11 colours and sealant to take care of their larger outdoor ornaments/gnomes/pots etc... Repainting gnomes to suit your style can be fun and the colours will be great for the life of the gnome. The sealant when used under the paint not only keeps the paint from flaking off, but when used as a top coat, provides a surface that is easy to clean!



We will also sell gnome blanks on their own for people who may have paint left over from the kit and want to paint another one! All of our sweet gnomes are handcast, fired to cone 04 and sealed inside and out ready to paint. He is approx. 10cm tall which makes him ideal for mini gnome gardens or to carry in you pocket!


We are taking into consideration schools and community groups too by planning a bulk paint and gnome kit. Where we live, school groups often take a gathering of Gnomes out to Gnomesville.



We can see our gorgeous handmade gnome kits being bought by locals, tourists and the gnome lovers throughout Australia. It's has everything needed in it and has been well tested. We are proud to say is Australian made and a lot of love has gone into it.

Money is the main object at this point in time. We have built up a small supply of kits already but we are financially unprepared to take serious orders. We don't want to launch the business then not be able to supply retailers properly or back up our future online sales. This is why we have reached out to you all for kindly assistance with our Little Aussie Gnome Kit business.

We have researched extensively and therefore have plans in place to deal with most things associated with this project. One of our last areas to focus on is how to distribute the bulk orders across Australia for the best price. So this is what we are doing now.

We have already had enquiries from tourist bureaus and people who have heard of our venture. The feedback has been great! People love the packaging and size of the gnome...it is a sweet gift for many age groups and people from all walks of life.

Challenges - getting the funds to launch and take orders.

Risks - new business is always a risk but this is a very calculated risk and we feel comfortable. We have researched and developed a top of the line product and there is a market for such a kit. Feedback is all positive. We consider it low risk.
