Anthony Breslin
Anthony Breslin's Memoir
'Breslin: The Spirit Endures' tells the story of an exceptional life, interwoven with tales of surreal adventures, creative outpouring, and poignant insights from the internationally recognised artist himself, Anthony Breslin.
Breslin shares his soulful journey while traversing the world as a seeker of life’s essence; leaving his hometown of Melbourne to immerse himself in the wilds of Africa, the sophistication of Europe, the sultry tropics of East Asia, and the urban jungle of NYC, guided only by his inner voice, relentlessly seeking to express the spirit within. This voice ultimately found form through his powerful art, evoking joy, astonishment and pathos from his audience of thousands during the decades of Breslin’s artistic career.
Breslin’s authentic vulnerability and passionate determination shine throughout the book as he delves into memories – some painful, some ecstatic – from his childhood, youth and later years while suffering a severely debilitating illness. He reflects on this world of his own prolific creation and hopes that, in the telling of his story, others will gain something.
For those who wish to unleash their creative potential, Breslin offers inspirational, essential revelations on the power of saying ‘yes’, of not playing it safe, and believing the universe will catch you when you leap into the unknown.
'Breslin: The Spirit Endures' will be a lavishly produced book at approximately 400 pages with colour images of Anthony's life and art throughout.
Budget Overview
Anthony Breslin is a revered and internationally acclaimed artist, known for his groundbreaking, unique perspective on life and our place in the universe. Anthony has grappled with a terminal illness for the past decade, which has led to the creation of this memoir: a reflective and joyful recounting of a life lived to its fullest.
Through this campaign, Melbourne Books invites Anthony’s supporters to donate towards the production of a considered, culturally significant full-colour book that does justice to Anthony’s incredible life and art. Rewards for donations include signed copies of Breslin, bundles including Breslin and previous works, and one-of-a-kind artworks produced by Anthony.
Some of the artworks available on offer are new studio pieces, and others are older works of great sentimental value to Anthony, previously not offered for sale, which may be lightly scuffed in the traverse of time.
Each supporter also has the option of having their name listed in a special acknowledgements section at the back of the book – no donation is too great or too small.
Funding through this campaign will also directly support Anthony. Any extra donations received will enable a larger print run and will flow through to Anthony and a charity of his choosing.
Thank you for making Anthony’s memoir possible.
