Shining the light on the entertainment industry on The Mornington Peninsula. We need your help.

The Shed is located on The Mornington Peninsula in Main Ridge surrounded by glorious hills and farmland connected to The Pig & Whistle Pub.

Local artists will know this place as a great venue to get a hearty meal, craft beer, wine and to listen to live music.

During the past 2 years, the pub has been trying extremely hard to complete the construction of a small 100 seat performance and artist hub known as The Shed. Since Covid struck the planet in 2019, The Shed Project has endeavoured to push through all the ups and downs of the pandemic to get this performance and artistic hub up and running as soon as possible, with an enormous focus on providing opportunities for artists to start working again.

Our creative team have an extensive amount of personal and professional relationships with local and touring performers here on the Mornington Peninsula and have witnessed the heartache and devastation this pandemic has had on their career.

As artists struggle financially and emotionally through the constant uncertainty of the future of the industry, we would like to provide a free space for artists, so they can continue to create, express, collaborate and present their amazing talents and art that they have spent their entire lives building.

We understand that everyone has been affected in a negative way during this pandemic. Our pub has closed its doors for over 200 days. This has put a massive financial dent into our funds allocated to the future of our hospitality business and the launch of The Shed Theatre and Arts Hub. With your financial support we can guarantee the launch of this most needed space.

We encourage original material, and we are amongst one of the only venues left supporting original music here on the Mornington Peninsula. We would like to see our space put in use as soon as possible. When this space has opened, we will assist economic recovery for artists, promoters, community groups and production, hopefully bringing the smiles back to the faces of music lovers, theatre lovers and artists.

A Sound PA needs to be installed - $17,500

This will allow the space to be inclusive for all artists and promoters. Many artists touring, or lacking funds, cannot afford to supply their own sound equipment. Having professional sound equipment installed will ensure a professional performance and confidence for our artist to present their best work.

Stage Lighting - $5000

Having the appropriate lighting in The Shed will provide our audience with the visual experience. The lights will also provide the much-needed backdrop in presenting a professional live streamed performance, if we were to go back into restrictions where limited numbers can attend. We want to be able to share the love of art beyond The Shed.

Live Stream Equipment -$3500

Having a professional camera, software and computer to capture the live performance of our shows, guarantees the continuation of The Shed Theatre and its activities through continuous Covid restrictions. This allows artists to continue working and providing art to all our entertainment lovers!
