I am trying to setup a fan based film group that will allow me to film short films that fall into different universes, in full 3D (As I have one 3d camera already). The first one I'm working on is "Terra Nova - The Lost Patrol" (WIP title). Its a potential mini-series that takes place in the Terra Nova universe, and follows a group of 4 or 5 people as they try and find there way back to the colony. Its more comedy than anything else as everything that can go wrong does go wrong.
Another idea a friend of mine is spinning is a Stargate type mini-series as well. But that'll be a bit further off.
The whole point of this Pozible account attempt is to help me get the money together to get the different pieces of gear needed to make the film (listed below with the prices of the gear next to it). Its a case of any help is welcome as a lot of the camera equipment I need is very expensive to get my hands on. I do have a few sets of the gear, but I'm also looking to get my hands on replicas of the guns used in Terra Nova, as well as find someone who's willing to help add the 3D dinosaurs into the background. Something I have been experimenting with, but I'm not the best animator in the universe.
I'm looking to get $3000, that will cover all the physical cameras and other kit needed to get this project off the ground. But it wont cover the cost of the visual effects and that could be the issue. I'm currently working on relearning all the 3d Studio Max tricks that I used to know when I did TAFE but at the moment I'm finding it hard to find the time to do it.
But here's the plan anyway.
Run this Pozible account and hope to get funded. In the mean time put as much money a side as I can to help go towards it as well as put as much time into working on my 3D max skills.
This is how much the kit will cost at current (as of 8/5/13) prices.
Cyclopital3D Filter/Close-up Adapter, retail $199.00
Cyclopital3D Stereo Base Extender, retail $499.00
Cyclopital3D 11mm Wide-Angle Adapter, retail $349.00
Cyclopital3D 25mm Wide-Angle Adapter, retail $349.00
Cyclopital3D 28mm Wide-Angle Adapter, retail $349.00
GS-TD1 3D camera (already have 1 but it'd need 4 encase of damage and/or faults), retail $550 x3
TASCAM DR-05 x 4 retail on Amazon for $100ea
lapel microphones x5 retail for around $30ea
is about $4000
Just to prove that we have the potential to do this, I have made the test footage I took with just my GS-TD1 that I own and made it available on youtube. Its rough as guts as I was still learning the ins and outs of the camera. And I was still working on the limits of what can and cannot but done. But now I have a better idea. Another thing we lacked was a microphone to record the audio, so you'll have to forgive the bad audio in both these shorts.

To watch the 3D version on a 2D monitor you need the Red/Cyan 3D Glasses, go here
If you have a 3D monitor this is side by side 3D, then you can go here
If I get funded I plan on
re-writing them both into one longer pilot type episode with action
and shooting and stuff like that. If this project gets funded it'll
be filmed over a week at the end of July in Armidale NSW. If you wish
to help them please give what you can. It all adds up.
