Each week across Australia, hundreds of children will enter foster care or out-of-home care. 

Most of the time, when children are removed from their home, it happens very quickly and is quite traumatic.

It’s often not possible for them to gather their belongings (if they have any), therefore it is common for them to enter care with only the clothes on their back, or carrying a plastic bag filled with a few items grabbed in a hurry.

About Hope In A Suitcase (HIASC)
Hope in a Suitcase was established by Rachael Clancy in 2019

Hope in a Suitcase is an Australian based, not for profit organisation run entirely by passionate and dedicated volunteers. 

In 2022, Hope In A Suitcase delivered 3817 suitcases to Australian children entering foster care or out-of-home care.

About this campaign
The purpose of this campaign is to give at least 1000 books to Hope In A Suitcase, to include in the suitcases they give to children.

To achieve this, we are asking kind-hearted people like yourself to buy one or more copies of any of my books at half the normal price, which will then be given directly to Hope In A Suitcase to include in the suitcases they provide the children they come into contact with.

To reach our goal of 1000 books, we need to raise at least $12500. The rules of this crowdfunding campaign are we need to raise the total amount, or we do not get any of the funds. So, every book purchased is super important.

Secretly we would love to give Hope In A Suitcase at least 3000 books. With your help, we can do it!

Your pledge will help us to be able to meet (and hopefully exceed) our goal of 1000 books. 100% of the funds raised will be used to provide children’s picture books, free of charge to Hope In A Suitcase.

How you can help
1) Pledge to buy one or more books at half the normal price, that will be given to Hope In A Suitcase on your behalf.
2) Ask as many people as possible to do the same.
3) Share the link with friends, family, work colleagues or anyone you can think of that might like to help.

How to pledge
Select your preferred pledge option and follow the simple instructions. You can purchase just one book if you like. That would be amazing. If you are interested in buying more, that would be amazing too.

All we need is 100 people to buy ten books each and we will reach the target. Ten books are just $125. Could you perhaps spare $125 to make a difference in ten children’s lives?

Payment
You don't pay anything upfront. You only pay once the minimum target has been reached. At that time, the amount you pledged will be deducted using the payment method you chose.

What happens next
At the end of the fundraising campaign, (providign we reach our goal) all the books purchased will be sent to Hope In A Suitcase on your behalf to be included in the suitcases given to children. And we can all celebrate knowing we have helped make a difference in the lives of children who are doing it tough.

Our goal is to give 1000 copies of my books to Hope In A Suitcase to include in the suitcases they give to children entering out of home care or foster care.

To do this, I am offering people the opportunity to purchase one or more copies of my books at half the normal price.

To reach our goal of 1000 books, we need to raise $12500. 

100% of funds raised will go directly towards purchasing a book/s. 

Every book purchased will be given directly to Hope In A Suitcase.
