Melbourne indie electronic group Black Cab have been working on their fourth album for the past two years and a double album (the Mount Everest of recording endeavors) is now ready to mix for a vinyl/digital release. The album is a culmination of various line-up changes and experiments with analog and electronic sounds and is loosely inspired by the Games of the XXI Olympiad (the 1976 Montreal Games) where the East German team blew everyone away after being secretly doped to the eyeballs, the Australian team won no gold medals, Africa boycotted, and the games practically bankrupted Montreal for two generations.

The band have been working closely with Melbourne producer Simon Polinski on previous singles Sexy Polizei and Combat Boots (both of which are being reworked for the album), and legendary UK producer Tim Holmes (Death In Vegas, Spiritualised and more) is on board to help mix.  A single will be released in July June with the full-length double LP to follow in September 2012. Pozible funds will help us ensure all tracks sound the very best they possibly can and that the gatefold vinyl artwork is a thing of collectable beauty (with imagery sourced from the unique and gorgeous graphics of these games).

Black Cab has released three critically acclaimed albums; 2004's Altamont Diary, 2006's Jesus East, and 2009's Call Signs (which bizarrely almost stole the 2009 Australian Music Prize). Current members are James Lee, Andrew Coates and Steve Law.  Sand Pebbles drumming prodigy Wes Holland is also helping out.

We love those people who love what we do, and the Fourth will be for you.
