At Dear Gladys we are very excited about our job every day, because Gladys isn't just a beautiful vintage and contemporary fashion store: she is very, very special. All profits from sales of our wonderful clothing and gifts go to our not-for-profit owner, Fitted for Work, which helps women step out of disadvantage and into work. Dear Gladys currently funds a quarter of Fitted for Work's programs, and with your help we can fund even more!

Disadvantage doesn't just exist in the third world, or a faraway country: it’s happening here, right now, in Australia, in your neighborhood, on your doorstep. That’s why we’re asking you - our community - to help us give Dear Gladys a much needed makeover and make life a whole lot better for a whole lot of women who really need our help.

At Fitted for Work, we know that what we do makes a real difference because we've helped more than 12,500 disadvantaged women in the last 8 years. Disadvantage can mean many things: being homeless, arriving in Australia as a refugee, becoming widowed or getting divorced, having a disability, recovering from a serious illness, or escaping domestic abuse. By helping these women with skills like interview coaching, personal outfitting, work experience, coaching by volunteer mentors, and money management, they build the confidence and self-esteem to get a job and keep it. To help even more women gain the financial independence that comes with having meaningful employment, Gladys needs to make more profit.The excitement of finding the perfect vintage summer dress at Gladys really can transform the lives of other, less fortunate, women – and that has a positive effect on our whole community.

WHERE YOU COME IN

Your pledge will help us attract more customers – and increase its profits - Gladys needs some big improvements. The boutique is in urgent need of a makeover to make it a bigger, better, brighter place to shop. Your pledges will help refurbish Dear Gladys and fill her with more stunning vintage and designer goodies to make her an even more beautiful and enticing store to visit.

As well as pledging you can really help us by spreading the word about our campaign. Tell your friends and share our campaign on your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts. The more people you help us tell the more we can raise.

If we don't make our target of $27,000, we won't get any of our pledges :( and we won't be able to do our much needed repairs and revamp. - So get sharing :)

Without your support, there’s a domino effect:

* Gladys will not be able to start its much-needed refurbishment, never mind complete it
* We will be hard pushed to raise more money to fufill our dream of funding Fitted for Work and helping even more women in the community step out of disadvantage and into work
