I'm an independent filmmaker from the San Francisco/Bay Area. Because of its proximity to Silicon Valley, I live in one of the most technologically advanced and technologically dependent places in the world. From Google to Apple, we are steeped in the latest devices, gadgets and tablets. Everyday, I see people finding new ways of connecting with the internet, but losing ways of connecting with each other.

I love technology and interact with it as anyone else does, but question whether we've lost something in the exchange for modernization. It seems to me more and more that presence is a rare gift these days. That is why I decided to make the film, "The Typist"; in order to show that you can find connection and love in the most unexpected places.
My goal over the next year is to spread this message far and wide. I'm embarking on a journey to take the Typist to film festivals, and I need your support! If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the onslaught of technology or longed for more human connection, or if you just happen to like what you see here and want to watch my movie, please help our cause!

The Challenges
It is important to be savvy about which film festivals to apply to. Some festivals may be popular and well sought after, but not looking for a film like, "The Typist". Then there are others, which will accept the film but will be too small to have an impact or too far away for me to attend and promote the film at. In order to save money on applying to the wrong festivals, I am doing continued research on which ones are most appropriate for me to apply to. In this way, I can maximize the impact, "The Typist" will have and put the money raised by this campaign to its most effective use.
