HEADLAND is a Super8 surf-film from Lennox Head, Australia shot by various film-makers in 1970s.
The goal is to master and release on vinyl the bespoke soundtrack.
Using original footage of surfing at Lennox Point in the ‘70s and anecdotal glimpses of surf-culture of the era, the music has been composed, recorded and mixed. Headland Soundtrack now awaits release on the medium it deserves: good quality black vinyl.

The main body of the music was performed by Brock Fitzgerald (Wolf & Cub), Les Dorahy (Nashuaville), Skritch (Mary Trembles, Woolpit), Joel Silbersher (Hoss, Tendrils), Jon Schofield (The Coloured Girls, The Wetsuits) and Murray Paterson (The Dark Horses).
Contributions also came from Tom Jones, Alison Baily, Nanga Houston, Zee Barnes, Steve Law, Tarryn Wilson, Lily Nicholson, Tony McCall, Leah Flanagan.

The recordings took place in Brisbane, Queensland with Skritch at Borough, and on the Far North Coast of NSW with Les Dorahy at Nashuaville, with Steve Law at The Lounge-Room, and with Murray Paterson at Dad’s Office.
The mix was crafted by Skritch at Borough.

The Challenges
The project has been thoroughly costed. The self-funded HEADLAND Soundtrack has been recorded and mixed. The only obstacle ahead is to obtain the funds for a vinyl release.
