Song of Welcome for Refugees

A SONG OF HOPE FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS
Hi, I'm Lorraine, a musician, choir leader, wife and Mum. Like many Australians I am saddened by our treatment of refugees and am hoping for a more compassionate response than anything that is on the current political horizon.
One day back in March 2013, I received an update from Getup titled "You Made The Children Dance". This referred to the joy expressed by the children on Manus Island when they heard that their drawings had been seen by the Australian public via a TV campaign. As the mother of a 5 year old who often expresses her joy in this way, I was very moved.
That afternoon I sat down and a song poured out. It's called "Hold On" and has a message of hope and of welcome to refugees.
This Pozible project is designed to raise funds so that we can record the song and get it to those who need to hear its message.
The Challenges
This song can also serve as a unifying force for those who care about the rights of asylum seekers. It could potentially become a theme song for this issue, but we need it NOW.
The current avenues to get this song to those in detention may also be shut down forever soon after the election. Help us get this message of hope and welcome to them as quickly as we can. They will need it to survive the dark days ahead. It will literally give detainees something to "Hold On" to while the good people of the world continue their work to change the policies and processes necessary for their freedom.
A warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that you have helped get a message of hope to those who need it.
