We're happy to say we will be covering manufacture of CD and vinyl so far plus a little bit of the mastering, which is brilliant. It's also warmed our cockles in a large way to have so much support.

Given we have 30 days still we're hoping to cover the costs of a publicist and advertising as well. If we could get up to $8000 that'd do it. If not we've still done well covering a fair chunk of our costs. As any of you independent musicians know, it's a costly business.

Hi Friends,

Infinity Broke is a new project featuring me, Jamie Hutchings (founder and bandleader of the Sydney band Bluebottle Kiss), and fellow Bluebottle Kiss member Jared Harrison, as well as my brother Scott and our brother-in-law, Reuben Wills. Yes, it's rather incestuous.

Whilst all four of us have played in various incarnations of my solo work, Infinity Broke sees the band paint with clubs more often than brushes. Scott and Jared pummel out Kraut-Rock friendly rhythms on drums and assorted percussion beneath Reuben's soulful bass playing. It's louder, longer, more hypnotic and kind of...bloodier. I've also returned to my beloved and battered Fender Jazzmaster. After dedicating the last five years to acoustic instrumentation I feel like a dog let off his chain. As a result there's a fair bit of free-range high decibel action going on.

In short, if you’re sophisticated enough to love being hypnotized by early ‘70’s improvisers like Can or even On the Corner era Miles, BUT you like getting beaten around a bit by The Replacements or Husker Du – you will like Infinity Broke.

We were fortunate enough to gain access to a former shearing shed on a rural property in western NSW in January of 2012, owned by Bathurst based artist Chris Mcgirr. We pooled together two utes and a hatchback and hauled all of our gear out there. We were also lucky enough to have engineer and old friend Chris Culquhoun along for the ride.

Chris and I share a love of analogue gear, so the whole album was tracked mostly live to a 24 track one-inch machine. We set up the studio on the hottest day of the year. We didn't wear much clothing during the sessions. We could also make as much noise as we wanted, whenever we wanted to make it. It was a great experience. The album is recorded and mixed and it sounds exactly like the above descriptions.

We have a plan in progress to distribute and publicise this album. Given the down turn in music retail, we thought we needed some help to make the album look and sound as good as possible. If not, we'll have to scale this project back to a simple CD release. However, we are convinced the vinyl format would suit this album perfectly. If there is any spare change we'll be using it to employ the services of a publicist.
