I invite you to join me in the making of my new album, NightWalk.



I've been on an incredible journey of self-discovery in the past few years, and each momentous step has been captured in song. After I left my label of three years, Universal Music, I took off on a trip to rediscover my deep love of songwriting. Backpacking across North America in 2011 and 2012, I was released from a long bout of writer’s block with long night walks around whatever city I happened to be in. As I trekked across the beautiful, foreign landscapes of New York, Nashville, Austin and LA, I recorded small ideas onto my iPhone. In time, these ideas grew into songs - songs that have reminded me of songwriting’s remarkable ability to induce personal growth.

I am so blessed to now have my music connecting in countries all around the world. I Would Die For You, from my debut album Farewell Youth, has now been viewed millions of times on Youtube.

Feeling my music connect with so many new people has inspired me to write like never before. I've waited my entire life to write songs like these. I can't wait to share this new album with you.

THE PROJECT
You will be helping me cover the first part of the project: the recording and mixing. I'm now completely independent and I love it. I want to make the album I've always dreamed of making and deliver it right to YOU.

With your support, we will be recording over 9 days in Sydney in September this year.

You are helping me kickstart my career as an independent artist. NightWalk will be released on my own label, Akula Music. I will then release it and tour to as many places as possible, all over the world, to promote it.




THE TEAM

Producer / Engineer:



Paul Mckercher: Paul produced my debut album, Farewell Youth. I love working with him. He’s a multi ARIA award winning producer and engineer. Paul has also worked on some of my favourite Australian albums by Augie March, Sarah Blasko and You Am I.

The Band:



Dave Symes: Dave played bass on Farewell Youth. He’s one of the most gifted musicians I’ve ever worked with. He’s wielded his magic for the likes of Missy Higgins and Sarah Blasko to name a few. He’s also a member of one of my favourite Australian bands – Boy and Bear.

Hamish Stuart: Hamo is the best drummer in the world. Enough Said. He’s played with pretty much everyone and I’m thrilled to have him on board for this album.

Stu Hunter: Stu toured with me in 2011. He’s one of the best keyboard players around. Recently he’s been recording and touring with Passenger and Katie Noonan.

I’ll be playing guitar, piano and singing.



THE STUDIO



Oceanic Studios

I recorded Farewell Youth here in 2010. Located on Sydney’s beautiful Northern Beaches – it’s a seriously magic place to make music. Beautiful albums by Sarah Blasko and The Jezebels have recently been cut here.

THE BUDGET

I'm working with some of the best people in Australia. This project will ensure that they can keep doing great work.

Band and musicians $4500

Studio $650 per day x 9 $5850

Producer & Engineer $500 per day x 9 $4500

Mixing (Studio %20 plus Mix Engineer for 5 days) $5150

TOTAL $20,000

If this project surpases its target and reaches $25,000 - I can cover Mastering & Print Vinyl (dream come true).

If this project reaches $30,000 I can cover additional publicity costs and invest in touring this album all over the world.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME

Writing songs and singing them is what I love to do. This project has been 3 years in the making and we are so close to making it happen. You can really help me make this a reality.
