Gusher Magazine
Featuring diverse voices in rock journalism, music and art, Gusher, as a printed publication, is about claiming a physical space in a culture where women have so often been denied.
As two 20-year-old music fans, disillusioned with the lack of diverse voices in rock criticism, we set out to create a platform for intelligent and inclusive dialogue about everything rock, punk and indie.
The magazine is about moving away from the ephemeral ‘hot take’ nature of cultural critique, instead embracing more nuanced, thoughtful and enduring discussions about rock music and culture.
Gusher is a trans* inclusive platform and encourages all transwomen and non-binary people to contribute.
WHAT'S IN ISSUE %231?
Gusher Issue %231 includes essays, articles, interviews and art by an international community of writers and artists.

ABOUT US:
ISABELLA TRIMBOLI is the co-editor of Gusher. She is a 2nd year Media andCommunications student at the University of Sydney. Alongside Juliette she has organised, edited, and written content for the magazine. She has been writing about music since she was 13 on a now defunct Tumblr blog that became overrun with pictures of Iggy Pop. Her favourite album is The Replacement’s Let It Be.
JULIETTE YOUNGER is co-editor and creative director of Gusher. She is a writer, drummer and 3rd year Media & Communications student at the University of Sydney. Besides editing and running the magazine with Isabella, she is also Gusher’s graphic designer and art director – designing the publication, logo and website, co-ordinating artists, and developing the brand’s aesthetic.
Juliette is particularly interested in academic writing, politics and what Pete Doherty is up to.

How The Funds Will Be Used
For a 100+ page magazine, each copy will cost us AUD $19.06, totalling AUD $4,043 (inc. $231 shipping).
This is an ‘all or nothing’ campaign: for this fundraiser to work, we need to reach our $4,000 target, or we receive no money whatsoever.
The Challenges
As full-time university students who work and pay rent, we lack the proper resources to fund this project on our own. We have managed to compensate many of our contributors out of own pockets, but this has proven very difficult.
As a team of two who have established, edited, designed and managed every aspect of creating a print magazine entirely on our own, it is safe to say we’ve been stretched in terms of workload. We are essentially doing a full-time job, unpaid, with no prior experience, and - on top of study and work commitments - this has put us under enormous amounts of stress.
Despite all of these obstacles, we know it will all be worthwhile once we see this magazine in your hands. But this is only possible with your support!
