Nawaca, Fiji, is the village of my childhood, the village of my mother’s clan. All the 80 plus people who live here have no homes. Cyclone Winston destroyed all the homes. Only the church that was built of concrete survived and is now the temporary shelter for the 80 plus villagers. Temporary shelters are needed among other things. No one can be contacted at the moment. All the news is from people travelling through and then passing on the news once they reach Suva, the capital city.

Help from the Red Cross and the Fiji government will be very slow in arriving especially to remote locations like Nawaca. Friends of the Fijians, help us to build those temporary homes.

The oney will be used to buy tarpaulins/tents and food.

The money not being used for the purpose intended. I may have to travel to Fiji to consult with those in charge.
