SoundOut 2016 Festival
http://soundout2016.blogspot.com.au/
This is the 7th year of the annual SoundOut festival, and in 2016 we will bring to you the continuation of the incredible bristling explorative sonic arts event but unfortunately we were not successful in attaining Arts funding for 2016 and thus we need to run this crowdfunding campaign to raise the necessary funds to make it viable. We have grown from a small grassroots festival to one that commands an international reputation and we have recently won in 2015, two APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards for Excellence in Experimental Music for our work staging the SoundOut festival. So we feel it is imperative we continue this work to bringing exploratory music from around the world and staging this brilliant festival and seek your help and support in with funding.
This coming years festival 2016 sees extraordinary artists such as the brilliant RHRR trio: (France) [including clarinetist Xavier Charles, vocalist Guylaine Cosseron; and pianist Frederic Blondy ]; also astounding Austrian vocalist Fanziska Baumann and violinist Mia Zabelka; brilliant Swiss bass clarinetist Hans Koch in duo with electronic artist Thomas Peter; astonishing trombonist from Norway Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø; innovative German guitarist Hannes Buder; renowned Dutch tenor saxophonist/electronic artist Luc Hotukamp; the wind trio Psithurism (John Porter, Richard Johnson and Rhys Butler) (Aust); Trumpet tone master Miroslav Bukovsky (Aust); Electronic artist Reuben Ingalls (Aust); versatile bassist extraordinaire Simon Milman ; USA drummer/tenor sax instrumentalist Stephen Roach and electronic artist Michael Norris plus more.
As in previous years the SoundOut International Free Improvisational, Free Jazz and Experimental Music festival to will uplift tired ears, explore the unknown, see within the fabric of sound, unravel the threads of normative musical praxis, and question sonic hegemonies. Listen to music with an unforced organic quality that will grow on you...It will replenish your ears and mind! It is an unbridled mix of minimalism, fractional maximalism, melodic deconstruction-construction, variable repetition, micromodular and semi-thematic repetition and extrapolations: that can be moody, atmospheric, unsettling, good-humoured, down-right funny, menacing, ominous, jovial, and above all, original and organic. With artists from Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and the USA that will combine, mix, cross-fertilize, and move sound mountains to inspire inquiring ears.
The 2016 group of Artists has never gathered before and never will again in the same configuration, but they are all involved in an international dialogue that is essential to the unfolding of new music structures and what it means to be human in the 21st Century. Come, see and hear the new music evolve.
We have some marvellous rewards that have been generously given to the campaign from the renowned Composer/Improvisors Jon Rose and Hollis Taylor and I wish to thank them for being so generous.

Food Allowance; $1000
Advertising; $1000
Venue Hire; $1900
Equipment Hire; $500
Technical support fees; $2000
So thus we have set our sites on a smaller amount than the above so that we can be better placed to achieve our Pozible goal, and would of course be over the moon and very thankful, and better off, if we were to attain more than the asked for amount as we will definitely need it.
