Between Solar Systems
After an attempt to escape a drowning Earth, Vincent is the only survivor. Living his life within a spaceship, he has only had the on board virtual intelligence as company. As he realises the spaceship is rapidly decaying around him, he also finds that he may not be alone after all…
“I grew up watching science-fiction… they were these big adventures of good versus evil, but as I grew up, I started to become more interested in the setting, in space. Alien has that great tagline: ‘In space, no one can hear you scream.’ The rules are different out there. I wanted to explore what it was like to have been born out there, raised out there, and how the normal things for Vincent are strange for us,” says writer and director Scott McArdle.
Performed by a stellar cast (Nick Maclaine, Emily David, and Jo Morris), and accompanied by an original score composed by Drew Krapljanov, Between Solar Systems is, at its core, a thrilling tale of human existence and the pursuit of truth. Inspired by sleek science-fiction tales such as Gattaca, Interstellar, and Ex Machina.
Between Solar Systems will perform its world premiere at The Blue Room Theatre in Northbridge on 8 September 2015, followed by a three week season.

Previously, Second Chance Theatre seasons have run for three nights. At The Blue Room, shows run for 15 nights. To help us sell like we've never sold before, we've hired ace publicist, Krista Tanuwibawa, to help us. Not only are we printing 2000 flyers and 120 posters, we're also paying to have them effectively distributed rather than ending up in the back of Krista's car.

-200 posters: $358
-Distribution of posters: $198

To create a science fiction epic, we need to pull off some truly amazing technical feats. To do that we need lighting gels, new LED lights, extra speakers and microphones, and projectors.
-Portable central speaker: $100
-Lighting gels: $150
-UV light: $20
-UV glow paint: $60
ARTIST PAYMENTS
We're dedicated to taking the arts seriously and working hard, apart of that involves paying those hardworking artists for their time. While our actors and key creatives are on a profit-share from the show, many of our production team are paid upfront for their contracted work. We only think it's proper to give them a fair wage, don't you?
The Challenges
We've been rehearsing for over three months now and the performances are ready but the set and technical elements are only just starting to take shape.
At this stage we haven't gone over budget but that's always the fear in theatre, what with so little money to go around. This is why this campaign is so important as every little bit goes a long way.
