Monster Fest is a big screen celebration of independent genre cinema and is totally dedicated to bringing the latest, greatest and rarest cult and horror cinema from around the world to Australian screens – it's a film festival for genre freaks run by genre freaks!
Monster Fest is now in its 4th Year and continues to grow because of the support of Australia's hardcore community of cult cinema freaks - Yes we're looking at you!
Monster Fest is very much about international cinema but we are most proud of our role in launching new Australian genre cinema.
Screenings will be at Cinema Nova, Carlton and all session tickets will be available via the Cinema Nova box office.
Join us at The Monster's Lair (upstairs at Yah Yah's - 99 Smith St, Collingwood) for masterclasses, screenings, parties and special events or just to have a happy hour drink and watch a free movie.
Lounge in the sumptuous beanbags, indulge your tastebuds with a cool drink or some hot food, watch a movie in peace with our amazing Silent Cinema headphones or just hang at the bar rubbing shoulders with special guests and genre fans.
Present any Monster Fest 2014 ticket or pass at the door to receive a free drink & access into the inner sanctum of the Fest.
The Monster's Lair can be found upstairs at Yah Yahs, 99 Smith St, Collingwood from Friday 21st of November until Sunday 30th of November.

The Monster Fest Academy of Horror & Mayhem is the one-stop-shop for anyone interested in the art of genre filmmaking. Whether you’re planning a career in film or whether you’re a mega fan, this series of master-classes, panels and presentations will blow your devious minds! Listen and interact with some of the key players in the genre world today (both international and local) as they take you through the genre filmmaking process from concept through to delivery, distribution and exhibition. Never before has such a lineup of genre heavyweights been assembled in this country – Facilitated by ‘The Loved Ones’ Producer Mark Lazarus, the lineup includes Jen & Sylvia Soska (American Mary), Astron 6 (Fathers Day, The Editor), Jessica Cameron (Truth or Dare), Matthew A. Brown (Julia) Ashley C. Williams (The Human Centipede), Colin and Cameron Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres), Aaron Sterns (Wolf Creek 2), Jon Hewitt (Acolytes, Turkey Shoot), Chris Brown (Daybreakers, The Proposition, The Company of Wolves) and many many more!

The funds raised from this campaign will go towards cinema hire and film exhibition costs, flights and accommodation for our international guests, the bands and entertainment at the parties, the gifts and giveaways for Fest attendees and all the back-end office costs required to keep the Fest going for another year.
