This is a sequel to my short film "ONE IN A MILLION" that I directed in 2009 which became a Tropfest finalist.
It has had over 26,000 hits on YouTube, screened on Channel 9 to a whopping amount of people, and at its premiere at Tropfest was seen by over 100,000 attendees in Sydney's Domain Gardens alone.
'REDEMPTION' will be follow up and will see a return of the two main characters from the first film. The two actors Jamie Wilson and Josh Geary will return to reprise their parts as Les and Noel Taylor.
It's five years after the first film and Les Naylor has become a changed man after five years in prison and having found God. Now his only purpose is to seek redemption from his son.
Because of the original film's massive online popularity, we know there is a strong audience out there waiting to see how this story continues. How has Noel turned out after having his mother taken away from him by his own father. Is there any chance for redemption for Les? As in the first film there is a bit of a twist but we don't want to give that away. We want to make the film first so you can check out what we have in store for Les and Noel in a sequel you probably weren't expecting.
I'm totally excited by the prospect of bringing these characters to life again and by the fact that one of the lead actors Jamie Wilson told me that this is the best script I have written so far. Though I don't agree with him I'll take the compliment.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Funds will be used for locations, equipment and catering.
Also I am planning to pay the crew and actors.

As director I will be taking my usual pay cut and go home with zero dollars.
Bu for once I would like to give something to the cast and crew.
I'm pretty sure they're sick of pitching in for the usual nothing as well.

The Challenges
There is a scene in the film where I pay homage to the old series Prisoner. I need to find a location which has a steam press set up similar to the one Bea Smith used in the old series. It will be a chore to find but I'm sure we will be able to do locate in the next week or so.
