In the Meantime have been invited to present a work for Meet the Public, a festival of participatory art hosted by Blindside ARI from August 27 - September 6. We have developed a new work titled ACES and need your help to make it happen!
ACES invites members of the public to play cards in the gallery with a custom designed deck of oversized playing cards. The absurd scale of the cards will add new challenges to familiar games, encouraging collaboration and negotiation. Through potential co-operations, failures and success’, ACES explores the very nature of participatory work.

In the Meantime (Alica Bryson-Haynes, Shae Rooke, Claire Robertson and Lizzy Sampson) is an artist led initiative aimed at supporting and facilitating individual and collaborative visual and experimental arts practice. Along with curated exhibitions and events, skillshares and collaborative projects, In The Meantimetake a flexible and open approach to programming. We work together on annual projects as well as spontaneous collaborations, with an open, critical and ongoing dialogue surrounding our practice and projects.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Your generous donations will fund the production of our work by covering the printing costs of the custom designed cards.
In keeping with the participatory and collaborative nature of our work, our campaign hopes to extend ideas within the work by offering incentives for your support which are open, collaborative or which relate to card games, suits, play or participation.
We are also offering the more ‘traditional’ crowd-funding incentives for art projects - with with limited edition prints and artworks available. ACES will launch during Meet the Public, but the work will not end there as we have plans to use the giant deck for future projects in 2015.
