Help Kim go to Kalgoorlie
If you decide to help me on my quest, I will use my **magical skills to make you some individual rewards. I will turn some mud into amazing functional art. Just for you.
Magic and freezing garrets aside, I live and work in isolation, as do a lot of artists living in regional areas of Australia. The RAA Summit is a fabulous chance for like minded people to connect and be inspired every two years. And sometimes magic does really happen in the form of artistic collaborations, networking opportunities and just plain great art.
Also I must have been living under a rock in my garret because I only just found out that Antony Gormley's AMAZING INSTALLATION, "Inside Australia" is a mere 170 kilometres away from the RAA Summit and on seeing this installation through the power of buzzfeed I ***really, really, really need to go.

*not really a garret but TASMANIA IS PRETTY COLD.
** not really magic. It is a sciencey infused skill.
*** I really and truly, really really REALLY NEED to go and see this installation
How The Funds Will Be Used
The Challenges
Luckily for you I will have sent most of the rewards off to you before you generously send me to my doom.
You will receive a public thank you on my Kim Foale Ceramics facebook page as well as my undying gratitude for your help. Thank you.
Your very own postcard with a handwritten thank you message that I will post to you from Kalgoorlie. I can also rub some authentic Kalgoorlie dust onto the card if you like.
Two Ceramic Skull Beads, similar to these. Made by my fair hands and posted to you BEFORE I leave on my fabulous adventure.
A one of a kind handmade tea scoop. These scoops are all various sizes and shapes. I will post this reward off to you BEFORE I fry in the hot Kalgoorlie sunshine.
Small Rainbow Equality Cup. These 150 ml slipcast ceramic tumblers are suitable for hot or cold drinks. The tumblers are handmade by me and I like to leave fingermarks in the glaze so that you know these were made by a real person, not a robot in a factory somewhere. I will post these to you BEFORE I develop sunstroke.
Medium Rainbow Equality Cup. These 250 ml slipcast ceramic tumblers are suitable for hot or cold drinks. The tumblers are handmade by me and I like to leave fingermarks in the glaze so that you know these were made by a real person, not a robot in a factory somewhere. I will post these to you BEFORE the desert sun does its worst to my delicate Tasmanian complexion
Large Rainbow Equality Cup. These 350 ml slipcast ceramic tumblers are suitable for hot or cold drinks. The tumblers are handmade by me and I like to leave fingermarks in the glaze so that you know these were made by a real person, not a robot in a factory somewhere. I will post these to you BEFORE I make up another doom filled scenario. Are there sharks in the desert?
A handmade bowl, similar to the one in this photo. The undersides of these bowls are heavily textured as I am fascinated by micro-landscapes and the idea of creating twenty first century fossils. These bowls are approximately dessert bowl sized, give or take a slice of cake. I will post these bowls off to you BEFORE the Kalgoorlie sun does its worst.
Sclerophyll Cups. These heavily textured cups make me happy. I enjoy making these cups the best. I will post these off before I leave to travel zillions of kilometres IN THE NAME OF ART and collapse exhausted at the foot of a Gormley Sculpture
Urban Decay Cups. These cups are totally functional and I use mine for nice cups of tea. They are equally at home just gathering dust on a shelf somewhere. The cracking in the exterior texture is integral to the honesty of this work. If you do not like cracks, DO NOT choose this reward.
A large shallow serving bowl, similar to the one in the photo. This will be a one off abstract design in bright colours. Bright colours that vividly recreate the lovely mirage I saw at Lake Ballard.
