Flute Bags are bags made by hand from repurposed cardboard. They have a water resistant varnish, zipper pocket on the inside, adjustable straps and a magnet clasp. Some have hand drawn artworks on their exterior and others are left to showcase the cardboard.

The campaign aims to raise money to go toward the product launch event for Flute Bags, held in December 2014. We will hire a venue for a two week period. From here we will hold a launch party and then the space will become a pop-up shop to sell the bags. Our goal is to generate income, secure stockists and create connections for future collaborations. 





For the past three years Flute Bags have been through product testing to ensure that the best quality handmade bag is being created. As a result there a four sizes available; the clutch, small handbag, shoulder bag and backpack. 

We believe our bags have the potential to be a hugely successful product which could lead to exciting collaborative projects in fine arts, design, styling, textiles and furniture design. Flute Bags showcase emerging Australian design and celebrates how we can transform our rubbish into something of function again. 

The funds raised will be used to assist in paying for: 
Venue hire for the launch event and pop-up shop. $1500
We are looking at gallery spaces and open lease spaces where extending the lease is possible.

Photography and documentation $500
This includes getting professional photographs taken to be used on the website, in the look book and for online advertising. We will also be making a promotional video of the launch event which will need to be filmed and edited.

PR and promotions $500
Organising radio interviews, paid advertisements in art/design related media. Create two short promotional videos to be circulated in the lead up to the launch.

Staff for the launch event $500
To pay waiter staff as we will have some food and drink provided by event sponsors.

Any money that exceeds my $3000 goal amount would go towards more marketing and extending the venue hire. The more exposure I gain the more successful the whole launch can be.  

Challenges for this campaign include:
Maintaining exposure for my campaign to ensure we reach our goal.
- We have organised advertising with online bloggers that are happy to do either shout outs to their followings or mailing list. 
- We have made contact with a local radio station to do an interview.
- We have a pre-existing mailing list of 150 people to get involved.

Securing a venue that is in a good position for retail success.
- We have made contact with two different venues that are happy at this time to rent their space to me for the two week period.
- However we need to secure the funds before it can confirm the booked.
