Wagga Underground Sounds is a collective of like minded people based in Wagga Wagga NSW. We love to spread the gospel of underground music by hosting numerous free events/regular parties and having a wild time getting down to a HUGE variety of alternative music. Genres we enjoy: deep house, techno, jungle, dark dubstep, trap, dnb, breaks, disco, funk, glitch-hop, house, electro-swing and progressive, psytrance. If the music is good we love to play it, and have everyone get their groove on.
We have also supported the growth of all dance music through the Riverina putting on free dj courses and supporting local producers and djs.
We pride ourselves on delivering a great party vibe with the best possible sound quality (something overlooked at other events). What is the point in having a music event without being able to hear the sound properly? WE WANT TO FEEL THE MUSIC!
OUR GOAL: To create events like never before in the Riverina. Truly unique experiences for all to enjoy with the BEST quality sound, light and decor production, along with a FREE beer and spirits bar!

How The Funds Will Be Used
After having great times throwing the infamous BURCH parties, Balcony Beats, UPSTAIRS UNDERGROUND, Daytime Playtime and DropZone as well as running Beach Bonanza and a stage at the regional Burning Man event "Burning Seed" we would like to do more! http://www.rlevents.net.au/pub-club-events
We want to upgrade our sound system and repair some of the DJ equipment as after 4 years of events some is literally falling apart, making it more and more difficult to run events for free.
We want to start providing a greater party atmosphere by developing our home brewing operation which will feature at our events...Free tastiness for ALL party peeps!
We need help to source new venues (like us: new and different!) - Spaces that allow greater freedom than the regular pub outing, where people can express themselves freely and enjoy themselves completely.
Examples include warehouses, outdoor spaces alley ways, paddocks, bushland, water side spots :) These sort of venues will allow us to host more creativity ie artists making murals and decor, live music, fire twirlers + much more This will showcase some of the many talented people around Wagga.
We are running another SUPERSTAGE at Burning Seed 2014 and we need extra funding to make it the biggest and best yet!

The Challenges
We are predominately comprised of poor uni students and everything we have done thus far comes out of our own pockets supported by casual and part-time jobs. If get help we'll be able to complete the upgrade ASAP and start running more events and gathering more like minded people together for some ripper fun times. To reduce the costs of the upgrade we are building the speakers ourselves and have spent the past 12 months carefully planning what we are going to do, however we do still need assistance to get all the materials.
Home brewing requires many things including kegs and brewing materials, we already have a small operation but we wish to increase this to provide free beers at all the parties that we legally can, the bigger the contribution we get the more we can do!
Finding amazing new spaces to host our events takes time and effort and we need help to hire some of the locations as well as finding them. Via word of mouth we've been trying to lock down more and more locations however many still require hire fees.
The better our setup, and ability to hire space the more opportunity we can offer to djs, music producers and artists around wagga to showcase their talents. We want to get as many people involved in our endeavors as possible, its all for the love of expression and have a good time!
