My name is Gordo, I am 24 years old, living in Sydney, Australia. When I was 21 years old I moved to Japan to study drumming at the Tokyo School of Music. After two years of dedicated study and practice, performing on the streets of Tokyo to earn my living, I have returned to Australia to take up street performing full time. I play drums on regular dulux buckets, busking across Sydney, using the knowledge and skills learnt whilst overseas.
As a result of my bucket drumming, I have had the opportunity to work on many different artistic projects with many talented people across the world. I currently run my own Youtube channel (below), perform in a number of independent Sydney bands as well as featuring in performances for ad campaigns, business launches and corporate events.
I am hoping to utiilise this campaign to broaden my artistic possibilities and create more ways to build my fanbase across the world.
How The Funds Will Be Used
I will use the funds raised to pay off the school fees accumulated whilst studying overseas, as well as a high quality video camera to record tutorial videos and performances for my Youtube channel. The money will also go towards travel expenses accrued from travelling to perform in different cities around the world.
Pozible donation breakdown:
$10,000 to pay off my school fees from the Tokyo School of Music- I have already managed to pay off $20,000 of these fees purely through street performing but I need your help to finally pay off the debt!
$600 for a high definition portable video camera to help document my travels and performances, as well as provide tutorials for my Youtube Channel.
Any remaining money will go towards helping fund my travel expenses over the coming year, with plenty of travel expected in the next 5-6 months for various events and shows around the world.
The Challenges
As with any street performer, there is always the possibility of a dud night, a rainy day or poor crowds meaning that income is sporadic at times, especially when I begin taking my act to new cities and countries. With my fees paid off, and some extra help from my fans, I will be able to ensure I can make the most of my trips overseas, continue to improve my show and keep doing the thing I love as an occupation.
