On the 4th of April, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) made a series of public threats to Vanessa Powell, who I understand is a Refugee Supporter and advocate:

This caused quite an uproar on twitter (https://twitter.com/search?src=typd&q=%40vanessapowell25) which has resulted in at least one story being run - https://www.greenleft.org.au/node/56237
I made an FOI request to the Department for Documents which relate to this request, as I (and others) thought it would be interesting to see what the Department 's thinking was behind publicly threatening someone on Twitter.
I made this request on Right to Know, and you can see all the details of the request (and the documents when they are released) here - https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/documents_related_to_twitter_pos
The funds will be used to pay the FOI charges for this request. The Charges letter that the department sent can be found here:
https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/581/respons....
That letter details how the Department thinks they will use the funds we need to raise!
The Department has given me until the 16th of June to send the money required, so we've got to get the money in by then.
