We are Chainsaw Hookers and we are a Hard Punk Rock band from Perth, Australia and are known for our infectious hooks and horror movie themed lyrics.
To date we have released our 'First Blood' EP (2010) and our self-titled debut album (2012), been consecutively nominated and won a WAM (West Australian Music Award) for best Punk / Hard Rock act. Back in 2011 we won the Triple J Unearthed competition to play Soundwave. We just recently re-pressed our album because it's first pressing sold out.
We have played hundreds of shows in WA and been on the road numerous times spreading blood up and down the east coast of Australia. We have rocked some awesome festivals and been fourtunate to support some rad bands like DROPKICK MURPHY’S, MISFITS, OFF!, KVELERTAK, EVERY TIME I DIE, MUNICIPAL WASTE, THE HARD ON’S, GUITAR WOLF, KYLESA, UNIDA, MONSTER MAGNET, EARTHLESS, CKY, HORRORPOPS, SOCIAL DISTORTION, MAD SIN, GASLIGHT ANTHEM, PENNYWISE, USELESS ID, MACABRE and many more
Everything we have accomplished so far has been all off our own back organised and funded by us. That means:
-no record label
-no booking agent
-no manager
Over the last 12 months we have been solidly writing tracks for a new album, we are really stoked with the songs, the only thing we need now is the cash to get this project rolling.
How The Funds Will Be Used
All of your awesome pledges will be used for:
- Recording for 2 weeks @ Sumo Studios w. Laurie McCallum
- Mixing of the Album @ Sumo Studios
- Mastering of the album in the US of A.
- Album Pressing on CD & Vinyl
-Promotion & Touring the album for its release.
We estimate the total costs of this to in excess of $20,000 but we are only asking for half that amount.
The Challenges
The studio time is booked, the songs are written and we are ready to go. The only real risk we have is not being able to pay for the studio time and album pressings. That is precisely why we need your help!
Throw us some loose change. A couple of coins gets you the album in digital format once it is all done.
