Hello and thank you for dropping in here and checking out my little dream, a dream to record my first album 'Gypsy Daughter'.

I am blessed to have been amongst music from the start and to have come from a house full of it! I grew up playing music starting on the flute and tin whistle and then turned to stealing my Dad's (Seán Tyrrell) guitars.  I took to songwriting because of my Dad. I am lucky to have watched him craft stories and inspire other people. I adored watching that moment of connection happen where music really matters.

Me and my little family moved to Australia about 4 years ago (I said 3 in the video, I must be in denial) .... Why did we come here? Home and Away has a lot to answer for, the surf is warmer, and it’s a better life for us: sunshine, opportunities, and my little babies even picked up cute little Aussie accents. We are living that little coastal dream.

When you become a mama your dreams sometimes get squashed down, you have so much to do to keep the family going, but then it just pops up again and again until you start to listen. So I listened and I started playing music again here in Australia with little to no plan. My soul has been so warmed by the love, support and encouragement I have got here in Australia playing for all of ye.


That is why I am crowdfunding… it is just more me. This way I can bring ye all on the journey with me. All the people that have supported and been waiting for an album for over 10 years, and all ye new lovelies… I get to make this album with you and for you. The best part of playing music is connecting with all of ye by sharing my stories and in turn hearing all your stories and through Pozible we can do a whole lot more of this. So you get an album, but we can also connect through all the rewards that are here. Drink green smoothies together, teach you tin whistle, go for a surf.

So I had a major plot twist in life… and a few weeks ago I did something crazy… I bought a bus, a 30 foot Bedford Bus! And you guessed it... me and my little ones are moving onto the bus of adventure. The Bus means I can fulfill a lot more of the rewards outside Victoria, so if you can be patient and wait for a tour to come your way, we can make that happen! The bus is also going to be the vessel for the recording as we record an album somewhere very special in Australia. I mentioned this idea a couple weeks back to the amazingly talented Mark Stanley, who is recording/producing it.
He at first was like…
"Áine, I am not traveling around recording while you are burning incense all over Australia."
"Settle Petal," I said. “No No!” But let's be honest... there will be some incense, but mostly great sounding tunes.
The recording HAD to be an adventure… recording studio just so isn’t me.

I have a great team of talented musicians in Ireland and Australia collaborating to make this happen. There are some musicians that you will know and I am getting very excited about having them play on my songs... woohoo!  And there are some amazingly talented musos that you SHOULD know and will get even more excited about hearing them for the first time.

Would love you to come on this journey with me- not all of you can jump aboard the bus and record with us, but ye all have a bit of wandering spirit in there and you can help serve that part of you by helping me spread a bit of gypsy love about the place. How will I handle challenges and obstacles you ask? With a smile and a huge dose of positivity! There will always be set backs, hiccups, disasters, but that is the risk of living large, dreaming big. Bring them on, I say!

(Although I have been warned that driving a bus at night through the outback may not be clever in terms of Roos and Wombats... so let us not bring them on!)
