HELP US FINISH THE BLUEPRINT FOR AN AGEING AUSTRALIA
The Advisory Panel on Positive Ageing was axed by the Federal Government only six months out from completing its Blueprint for Ageing. Per Capita, an independent, progressive think tank, has partnered with former Panel members to complete the Blueprint.
This crucial work will ensure that Australia prospers through ageing.
Help us make the Blueprint a reality!
Australia is getting older.
One in four Australians will be aged over 65 by the middle of this century. We need a plan for how to adapt to an ageing society. Without one, we risk losing our quality of life.
Your contribution will help older people now.
We all have someone we know who is getting old. A grandparent, a parent, a friend. Your contribution to our campaign is a gift for that person.
Ageing: it’s about all of us.
If you are in your 20s, your 30s or your 40s now, by the time the ageing tsunami hits in the middle of this century you will bear the economic and social costs of not doing more to prepare for an ageing society now.
Don’t let the crucial work of the Panel go to waste.
The Panel was constituted in 2012 to consult with the Australian community and provide a landmark document which would equip Australia with the tools to turn the ‘ageing tsunami’ into a social and economic opportunity. Four eminent Australians who were on the Panel, and who will be working with Per Capita to finish the Blueprint, are Everald Compton AM, Neville Roach AO, Prof Brian Howe AO and Professor Gill Lewin. We can’t afford to lose the Panel’s work.
Worldwide implications.
Life expectancies are rising worldwide. Societies are ageing. The Panel’s Blueprint will deliver responses to these demographic changes which countries beyond Australia can learn from.
This is an opportunity to help Australia prosper through ageing. If you believe that quality of life is important, no matter your age, help us finish the Blueprint for Ageing.
We can’t do it without your help!
How The Funds Will Be Used
Your contributions will help us consult with the community about ageing issues by conducting community consultations in Australian capital cities about the Blueprint. Funding will also be used for research and analysis on the the economic and social implications of ageing for Australia.
Finally, your contribution will enable us to publish the Blueprint and to disseminate the document as widely as possible in order to have greatest impact.
All contributions to the campaign are entirely TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
The Challenges
It is possible that we will not reach our total funding target for the Blueprint. This will mean that the level of community consultation and the amount of detail in the Blueprint will be affected. While this is a risk, the former Panel members and Per Capita are determined to produce the Blueprint to the best possible standard possible with the funds we have, and to do so by the original Blueprint publication date of June 2014.
