I have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old, cooped up in my bedroom with a bad case of the teenage blues. Through music I managed to find a release and comfort through the peaks and lows of life. After finishing school in 2001, at the tender age of 17, I spent a few years in Israel - and it was there that I began writing songs, and performing music.

Since then, my life's journey has taken me many places, both around the world, and deep within myself, but music has always had a central role within it one way or another.

In 2005 together with my dear friend Zev Gelber, I formed 'The Niggun Collective' - a Jewish music function band based in Melbourne. Since then, we have played at 100's of events Australia wide, and continue to challenge ourselves, musically and spiritually to provide the most authentic experience possible to our audience.

In 2010 I teamed up with bass legend Jonathan Zion to record my first EP 'Lost Treasure'. The EP was entirely self funded, I literally spent my life savings on it. The experience was more than surreal. I held a sell-out launch, and played at gigs and festivals in Melbourne, Sydney & New York.

But we all know how it goes - life happens. Things got busy (aren't we all too busy?), my family grew (2 more beautiful children), I finally finished Uni (took 7 years) and the original music got pushed onto the back-burner. But I never stopped writing music. At all the great moments, both painful and joyful, I found myself gravitating to the piano or guitar and putting thoughts and feelings to words and melodies.

This upcoming EP features all new material with a completely fresh sound. It will be recorded in the magical Belgrave hills by Ben Edgar, and produced by violin whizz and musical prodigy Alex Burkoy. The EP will be built on a bed of acoustic guitar, percussion and bass and will also feature rich layers and textures from harmoniuium, viberaphone, electric guitars and traditonal folk instruments.

We decided to change the band's to 'Feter Hendel' - this was done as a tribute to my namesake Hendel Lieberman who was a pioneering of Hassidic artist, who paved the way for reconciling artistic passion and Hassidic lifestyle. You can read more about him here, here and here.
