Caitlin Major & Matthew Hoddy made a webcomic. It turned out to be pretty good. They had fun making it and people enjoyed reading it. Now the story is finished and they want to collect it all into a book for all to read. Rejoice!

Space Pyrates is about two people that are faced with the choice of losing their accommodation or paying rent. So they seek to find a way of making monetary wealth to keep their abode. Seeking out a mentor to teach instruct them in the ways of intergalactic piracy. But they make friends and learn a bunch more lessons along the way. XP is earned and items GOTTEN. It’s a tale of discovery and intergalactic piracy set in the future past-post apocalyptic.

It’s random and silly but also serious.



We started Space Pyrates as a web comic back in January 2011. Mostly as a reason to do something and to learn about making comics while making comics. Starting out with one or two pages a week until we started to pump out 3 pages a week. We learned quite a bit about the process simply through doing. If you've read the comic from start to finish you'll see the developments in art style, colouring, panel layouts, even the writing and format.

Space Pyrates is 2 years worth of work in approx. 250 pages. Making comics and telling stories is what we want to do for a living and we believe this is just the first step on a long and rewarding road.



The aim of this campaign is to get the book printed.

Plain and simple.

The total of the campaign will cover items like: The printing of the book, printing of the shirts, printing of the art prints etc..

Shipping is mentioned in each tier for international supports.



You will get varying degrees of rewards depending on your pledge amount. You won’t just be giving us money. It’s much more like pre-ordering the book itself as well as other goods and services. This includes (but is not limited to) t-shirts, prints, exclusive artwork and handmade jewellery. We can even create a comic for you based on your idea or script. Have a look through each reward tier to see what is offered. But check out below for a detailed description of what is in each.

The main reward is the 250-odd page trade paperback which larger than most standard comic books and therefore more expensive to print. Which is why we need your help. You will be getting the book for cheaper than it will eventually retail.

Remember, the more money you donate, the better the rewards AND it takes us closer to reaching our goal. Which will make this goal Pozible. (See what I did there?)

There are stretch rewards which we'll reveal as we hit the tier prior. So when we hit the $8000 stretch goal we'll reveal the $9000 goal and so on. The more money donated the better the tier and the better the rewards for you guys.
